I don't have a problem with and felt your comments were insensitive.

Funny, that type of response only came from a select few of you HERE that already have a problem with ME, not Paula.

I stand behind my words.  I love Paula Deen.  So WHAT if she now has diabetes and profits from it from Novartis?  It's a surefire retirement plan.  She's a savvy businesswoman, and she will make it work for her.
Okay, I had to google Novartis...who, btw, only has a diabetes drug STILL in clinical trial and has yet to have it approved for sale here in the US.

According to the interview, bites.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/17/10173727-paula-de en-diabetes-diagnosis-wont-change-how-i-cook

She stated that she is a spokesperson for Novo Nordisk...that is the company that makes Novolog (insulin), and the oral med, Victoza. Both approved by the FDA for us here in the US. In fact, I used Novolog myself.

Just setting the record straight.

I had no intention of being insensitive, I love my diabetic friends and family.  I don't understand your anger.

But, Anthony Bourdain does mean it.   Go slam him.

"Anthony Bourdain, a New York-based chef and host of the Travel Channel's "No Reservations," took to Twitter Tuesday night to resume his criticism of chef Paula Deen by tweeting, "Thinking of getting into the leg-breaking business, so I can profitably sell crutches later."

How about  "I'm sorry I didn't mean it, I was trying to be witty but instead came off as being insensitive about type 2 diabetes and  I apologize".

Just suggesting it, there's a lot of peeps here who have/had type 2 and take it very seriously. So that's like going to an obesity convention and making fat jokes.

Oh, my, there are consequences in life for all of us, huh?

No fair!!! (Boo-hoo)...

But she has made a good living off her excesses, which is more than I can say for me.
