Question:   Is it safe to perform the Heimlich Maneuver, on someone who has had WLS ?

Me too. Save my life,  please. And you would be able to now- pre wls no- one could have reached round me to do it!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

 HA Kate, that was the first thought I had when reading this - 

"hell yes, since now I am small enough for someone to actually DO it for me" LOL

I hope I still have enough breath in me to punch anyone anal enough to stop and ask for my medical history before deciding during a choking episode whether or not I would be a good candidate for the heimlich maneuver!!!!

heimlich forces against the diaphram and causes air to push the stuck object out of the victims throat (ideally)... not much to do with WLS
