I got my surgery date in the mail last night after i got home from shopping im excited but cant sleep so much running though my head and I want to share. Ok ive been really depressed some i know winter blues but not all of it. My hubby decided he was going to get fit for beach time so great will both work out I figured id start now with a headstart on my surgery. Well hes doing p90x because hes not that out of shape. And me ive been trying diffrent exsersive programs and there killing me I cant finish them I hurt just from walking down town with the baby. My knees hurt my legs hurt. I wont give up but im sure hoping this pain gets easier after i lose some weight.I know some of the pain is from fibro. BTW surgery April 16 so grandson will all ready be hear. Loretta

I am schduled to have surgery on Valentines Day! I am super excited but just now starting to get nervous so I decided to join this site. I am on a 10 day liquid diet that started today and it is soo hard! I keep looking forward to how my life is going to be and I have a list of "I want to.." taped to my dresser.
Hi Loretta : )
I'm scheduled for surgery February 21st. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I started my pre-op diet a week ago, but 2 weeks prior to that I cut way back on everything (fat, calories, carbs), increased my protein intake, and cut out caffeine and carbonated beverages. I did this in order to make the transition into the pre-op diet easier on myself. I've already lost some weight, and I have already noticed a big difference in the way my joints feel. I'm on my feet all day at work, and I would come home in pain from my hips to my toes. Just the little bit of weight I have taken off has made a big difference. I had not exercised in probably close to a year, and I just started again this past week. I'm taking it slow. In my mind, a little is better than none. And, I've been able to increase the duration and intensity of my exercise a little bit each time. These are the things that are working for me so far. Best of luck to you with your surgery!

It's a big step, isn't it? I was a basket case of nerves beforehand, but now I would do the surgery again in a heartbeat, I am that grateful for it. I'll bet you are going to feel the same way when you are 1 1/2 years out!
