FDA Backs Diet Drug Qnexa - OMG.
I'm so disappointed. We want to lose weight so we won't have a heart attack, but take a pill that will give us a heart attack to get there. My endocrinologist had given me phentermine to speed up my metabolism 1) because of my blood-sugar issues, 2) to give me a bit of energy, 3) because I was gaining weight. Well, if you want a reason to exercise, try that stuff. I stopped the phentermine because I was getting heart palpitations in the afternoons and, since I had a heart murmur as child, I didn't want to risk causing damage to my heart. Since the weight started come on again, the dog and I have been out the door every single day since. So far, weight is maintaining and possibly heading down. I'd rather exercise than have a heart attack.

my god.
all for 10% in the 'first year' ... they want to keep people on it that long or more?
we are guinea pigs. and i don't like to get on my 'conspiracy drug company soapbox' but stuff like this makes me very uncomfortable.
my thoughts are so many people are desperate to lose weight they just want to make billions off them the first few quarters before the **** is recalled.

Yeah this guy is in my own backyard.
I was sent to him by my PCP because he was using a 3 drug "****tail" for people to lose weight, this is where his "new" drug was formulated from.
He was using Topamax, Phentramine (and having a brain fart on the third) and when I went to see him it was like a revolving door of overweight and many more not overweight people getting the drug.
A friend of mine did get the script and she went bat **** crazy for a few weeks. Like she was on meth. I hardly see the plus in that.
There are risks to any drug but when you are selling it like candy and especially to people whom don't seem to need it or giving it to overweight people whom may already have underlying cardiac issues, it really is disaster waiting on the sidelines.
Well, I wish eveyone the best that has to take it. I wish I would have bought stock in it though and cash out before the lawsuits happen....
