Damn diabetes... what is going on here?!
I'm not disputed that Endo-Ethicon makes many things, but the Realize divison only profits if you pick a lapband as your WLS and, in 99.9% of corporate American, each division only cares about their own numbers.
This doesn't even get into the fact that it's a secondary source, not a primary one that shows the actual studies and doesn't just refer to them.
It's just disenguous to present this partcular web page as some source of unbiased scientific data. It's designed to sell Realize bands.

Wrong again, Realize is branded across the entire weight loss spectrum of surgeries for Lapband, RNY and VSG. Endo-Ethicon has an entire website set up for surgeons and patients of those three surgeries called "Realize my Success." The data from those surgeries is reported by the surgeons themselves and is validated by patients entering their information. Clearly you will believe what you want to believe, which is your right, but don't pretend to know what others are talking about and then say it isn't true. https://www.realizemysuccess.com/launch.htm
I'm not the one pretending here. Realize wants to sell bands. They opened up their "Realize My Success" site to other surgeries in order to improve their Realize brand, which would (hopefully) allow them to sell more bands.
The funny thing is that their stats show the sleeve has better results than the band pretty much across the board even though they have cherry picked the ones they report on to make it seem not as effective as RnY.
If you search PubMed and look at all of the actual studies that are availble, you see a much different picture.

the difference for you and RNY - is you had Lapband - with RNY, it goes away over night. We take our last pill the night before surgery before we even lose any weight and within a few days our numbers are normal. within 3 months, my A1C was 5.0. WIth the band, this doesn't happen. You dont' say how much you still weigh or how much you weigh. I don't know if you would qualify for a revision - you might consider this just as an option to control your diabetes.
Revision on 12/08/15
My numbers were actually lower than they are now prior to surgery, and this was without meds. I have not been on meds for over six months now, and it has only been the last couple of weeks that I have noticed a spike. As many PP wrote, diabetes can be improved with surgery. I have talked to other patients who have/had it before lapband, and they saw an improvement.
