What to do when the love of your life tells you you are too thin...
and you don't agree. My husband told me flat out this morning that he thinks I am getting too thin and he does not want me to lose any more weight. I, on the other hand, do not agree with him and even though I am just one pound from my original goal weight I feel like I could lose more.
I am just torn on the whole thing, I don't want to be unattractive to my husband, but I also want to like what I see in the mirror.
Anyone? Any help here?

how long have you been at this weight? Does he just need some time to get used to the change?
I'd also want to know WHY he felt I was too thin - are your bones poking him in sensitive areas? Did he like having more "cushion for the pushing"? Does he think you've lost too much in the face? I know most of the people I know that did Dr Bernstein and dropped a ton quickly looked soooo gaunt around the face until they regained a bit or their faces caught up.
once you know his actual reasons, then maybe you can judge whether to stay where you are, or lose more...
maybe get a second opinion too, from a friend you know will be honest...it can take a while for our brains to meet up with our eyes.

LOL the killer is, before me he only dated skinny girls, like super skinny 98 lbs soaking wet kind of girls, now he thinks I am too thin at 160. I guess I have skewed his thoughts on "sexy" and he is having a hard time going back LOL I don't agree. There are many dangerously underweight people who are not happy with their body and are KILLING themselves in an effort to lose weight.
If he is the "love of her life", I hope that means that she is also the love of HIS life....and perhaps he has her best interests at heart? Perhaps he's scared and doesn't know that she is OK. Or perhaps she really ISN'T OK. The OP certainly wouldn't be the first person to go from one eating disorder to another.
My advice to the OP: take the "love of your life" along with you to your doctor's appointments, so he can SEE and HEAR the doctor tell you that you are doing great, that you are healthy, that you are OK to lose a few more pounds. If he hears that enough and then STILL comments in this way, then I might wonder if something else is going on. At that point I might suggest couples counseling.
good luck!

There are times when you are going to look too thin. I would advise you to keep losing until you are a weight that you are happy with. I don't know much about VSG but I know a lot about human nature. With everyone that I know who had WLS, there has come a time of regain.
Those who were initially too skinny filled out to their goal weight or more.
Those who never reached their goal weight gained weight that feels impossible to lose.
While I was losing there were times when I looked too thin. I worked on that with exercise, different hairstyles, padded bras, and considered padded panties. Then my honeymoon ended and I gained 20 pounds. It took more than one year to relose ten of those pounds and get to my goal weight.
If you can explain to hubby that too thin is part of the process, that regain is part of the process and that you are a work in progress, you both have a chance of making peace with this.
