Maraijuna use after a gastric bypass
Can you tell me where you get that number from? It seems extremely high to me.

Read any and every statistic you can get your hands on, every Medical study on Cross addiction Post op. I have been here 12 years .... at OH.Com , I have sen many sadly struggle with cross addiction(s) , that all started out ... with just once. I say this with great compassion. Not a bit of unkindness . I have watched a few lose everything over cross addiction , and it is wise to be educated on the possibility, statistics and the signs.
Regular tobacco smoking increases stomach acid which is a major contributor to ulcers, whereas cannaboids reduce stomach acid, so I can't see it increasing your risk of an ulcer. There is some concern that the smoke itself is irritating, so you might consider making tea or putting it in something (sugar free brownies?) or some other form rather than smoking. It might even help with post-op nausea. Speak to your surgeon about it.
I haven't smoked/eaten pot for a couple of years, and I don't plan of starting up again, but I can tell you that its effect had no change on me - I didn't get the munchies before my surgery, and I didn't get them after. Pot has always made me thirsty, mellow and then tired.
And like drinking alcohol post-surgery, a little goes a long way. 1/2 of a brownie or a couple puffs off of a bowl were all I needed and I was great - slept like a baby.

Proud mama of Mischa and Gabriel, both born post-op.
I have no experience with pot after the RNY---I had the DS. (*grin*)
Marijuana is NOT physically addictive. It can be psychologically addictive, but that's a horse of a different color. I personally think you should stick with smoking it, rather than tea---there *might* be a change in how you absorb that, post-op. Your lungs will remain the same as they are now.

Dunno if there would be any harm in an occasional toke- I guess all you can do is try it and see. Obviously the impact would be more on your lungs than anywhere else, so that would be no different than pre-surgery, that is if you smoked it. I don't think I would want to ingest it though- might be hard on your pouch and short-circuited intestines.
You might have to be a guinea pig- I somehow doubt much research has been done about your particular question. Let us know how it turns out!
