I just read another member's blog about dating frustrations.   You know, I so wish that there was a WLS dating website.  I know that there are websites for "Fat Admirers", but that is so not what I'm talking about.  It would be nice to be able to converse with guys who understand where you have come from (or going) and what struggles there are around food addictions, lose skin and the such.

THere was a time that I would have totally agreed, but after being set up with 2 guys by mutual friends because we have a lot in common.  Come to find out what we have in common is our WLS.  I would love to meet a guy who understands, but my friends pick certainly didn't help! :-)

On the other hand, it is nice to meet people who you have no history with and who you can develop into a relationship where your concerns are open.  I have not found this one yet that is for sure!

Best of luck in your search.
I have had the best luck using Plenty of Fish, but it is only a step above Craig's list in my book!

I may have had a few extra potholes along the way, but the journey has been good!

Here is a great forum to discuss dating issues...it is not geared toward hooking up nor finding dates with other OH member...but there is good dialogue about the challenges of being single, regardless of whether or not one is post-op from weight loss surgery.

There are many pros to this -- and more cons.

Once you are a little way out from your surgery, you will find that it doesn't define you as a person or a personality - it really has little to do with how you live your life - just how you eat!!!!

Don't limit your pool - it can seem small enough as it is once you weed out the weirdos and predators!!!

That's like 2 addicts dating... sure they can understand each other...
I have non WLS BF.  He is "normal". That helps both of us.   It gives me perspective.  It allows me to have more normal life.  And when we eat out - I can have 2 french fries of his plate, And no more than 2.

And we can order appetizer and i can have my dinner.  I will not eat desserts - but I can can a small (tiny) taste of a fork - if I want it.  But he is cool if I get a bite or 2 - and my body decides it has enough.

RM I just noticed your location. There's a WLS get together this Sat. in Atl. If you're interested let me know and I'll give you the details.

I think there aren't enough guys having WLS to make it work.
