Feeling Rough

I started the required diet (from the nutritionist) on Tuesday, and I'm feeling rough.  I'm guessing that it's the lowered carbs and calorie count that's doing me in.  How long until I start feeling better?  My body should be kicking and burning some fat for energy, but it doesn't feel like it is currently.  I'm having weak spells and feel like crap.

Please tell me I'm not going to feel like this the entire time after surgery.

Hey Pooh Hag
Im 3 Weeks out from surgery and I know exactly how you feel. No worries I promise it gets better. Ive been walking daily as soon as I wake up and drinking as much water as possible. I had very little.energy the 1st 2 weeks but everyday gets so much better.
Focus on water and proteins. That is working for me...

Pre-op, you'll feel like crap for 3-5 days, as you detox from the carbs.  You won't feel like this after surgery.  There will be a whole different world of misery (did I say that out loud?) after surgery....  By the time the effects of anesthesia wear off and you can eat full liquids and mushies, you'll feel much better.

I experienced the "low-carb flu" during the first 10 days of switching to the recommended diet. I recognized the symptoms from having done Atkins in the past, but yeah, it's pretty unpleasant. The good news is that it gets better. Lots of water helped me.

Ah, the Atkins flu!  Now I remember.  That would explain why I feel like poop.  Even my muscles are sore.  I guess I'll just try to stay strong and push through it for a few more days.  Thanks!
