Always hungry
Hi all-I had an RNY 18 months ago and am at my goal weight. The last few weeks I have been so hungry. I find myself thinking about food all the time--even waking up at night thinking of food. I gained 2 pounds and am in a panic about putting my weight back on.
I am eating well--no junk. Protein, veggies and some greek yogurt. I'm taking my vitamins but wonder if my body is lacking something I need--or if I need to chew more? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Nancy....my bariatric surgeon tells ALL his patients that around 18 - 24 months ( sometimes later) you can expect to get a regain of about 10% of your weight loss. I didn't gain any weight back till I was about 4 yrs post op ( I am now going on 7 yrs post op ). Just make sure to comply with ALL the rules you were given in the beginning....remember to not drink for 30 minutes before and after eating ( this is something that LOTS fall back into not doing ). Weight daily and keep track of your foods that you eat and the amounts also. It could just be water weight.

I'm in the same boat- 19 months out of surgery, and the same experience. I'm battling a 5 pound gain, and it is a bear. I have been golden with my diet and exercise for the last 2 weeks, and haven't lost a thing. At least I haven't gained.
I can't cut down anymore with what I eat, so I guess I've got to put in more exercise. Right now I'm running 4 miles a day 4-5 days a week. I've signed up for zumba and pilates and yoga- I hope that helps.
I don't think our fat cells like being skinny. I sure hope it's not such a grind here on out.
