Thank you for your post, martita.

I have a lot of justification and evidence for my frustration with my sisters, but I realized that it just isn't worth continuing- I was paying too much of a price maintaining my position. And I don't know yet if they will be open to catching up; I suspect not, but I will certainly be open to it if it does occur.

But it frees me up, this forgiveness stuff, and it empowers me, this force called love. I'm loving being with myself more, which is a very good thing.

All of this is deeply connected to my weight issues and eating for comfort from early childhood. I think I'm on the right track with dealing with that. Though I still have the habits to cope with and shift. That is going to require some long term, like the rest of my life, action from me.

Which is why I'm going for the coaching. Katie asked me what my goals are. The most important one: I want to expand my ability to live in grace and wonder.

You are motivated. I have not been so close with some of my family as of late. Granted, some of them I haven't tried, but some I have and I've just given up.

I had pretty much given up with my sisters, and decided they were too important to me to give up on. And I'm still wrestling with feelings about it all- old resentments and anger and upset- but I do love each of them, and in many ways they each are amazing.

I have discovered forgiving is a process- doesn't happen once and everything is then peachy. It takes work, but does clear the inner space.

The other thing is that family history is so closely intertwined with old tapes and patterns and habits, and I want to free up those stuck patterns I have about eating and food and survival.

That is what motivates me- I don't, don't, don't want to regain!!!

I think it's wonderful you have been able to reconnect with your sisters. I know what it is like because I am estranged from 2 of my sisters.

I think it is awesome you have found that deep healing. God promises us "peace beyond all understanding." It is experiencing Heaven on Earth and what we all are striving toward.

You have been blessed Anne...you are a blessing Anne!!

Thank you for your acknowledgement- it means a lot, and will help me stay motivated.

I don't know as I'm striving for peace so much as I am growth, which looks like staying thin and alive for me right now.

I've decided that what I'm living into from now into my future is inspired ease with my relationships, starting with me.

Anne, I have been to 3 of Katie's retreats. She is simply outstanding. I have known her for years and adore her. This is one of the best things you could do for yourself.

Yup, I love and honor Katie- she knows her stuff, and is so loving and compassionate. She works with it all, which is what I need. I think it's going to be amazing working with her personally, plus the coaching price includes a retreat. I get a whole day with her by myself, plus an hour phone conference every other week! Way cool!

I'm glad you know her!
