Way to go everyone!!! what a great motivation!! i got goosebumps! I cant think of just five things honestly. But i do know the one i cherish and hold to my heart the most is the relationship i can now enjoy with my children. I dont have to let others chase them or play with them or wrestle with them. I dont have to stay home because i am too scared to go to their events and embarrass them. I dont have to go to events and concentrate on the looks and stares instead of how proud i am of my children. I am PRESENT today with my kids. It rocks. I bike ride, play, wrestle, laugh, engage with them in ways i could not before. I will always be grateful to Dr. Versteeg and my therapist before him for helping me get here and stay here. I am a playful mom now. I have always been a loving mom, but just a more playful one now. ;)
Hi all!
I started out not being able to walk without help. I could hear my heart beating in my head when I was laying down at night. I felt like my life was ebbing away. I was really only surviving, secretly hoping to be "taken" in my sleep. It hurt to live.
So now?
1) I can run up and down the stairs no problem!
2) I do not have to look down at the arms on a chair before I sit down to be sure I will fit
3) I am a Grandma!!!!
4) I can MOVE-really move!
5) I have tomorrow, and LOTS of hope!!
One last note. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! And-DO NOT DO THIS ALONE! We need each other!
Finally-thank you to all the kind souls who have helped me make it to this day! So much gratitude!!
