My advice would be to plan your meals. I plan on several small meals throughout the day - protein forward & low carb. I use the daily "Whatcha Eatin" threads on here to give me ideas and inspirations. If yu have a plan in place, it will help prevent mindless eating, make sure you get in all your protein, and if you start to feel hungry, just grab something to drink and remind yourself that you can eat again in a short while.

It sounds like you're doing fine; just remember to stay hydrated. Often we misinterpret the "Thirst" signal for the "Hunger" signal, because we've ignored "Thirst" for so long that our bodies now tell us we're "Hungry" because that gets a response.

Definitely do the hydration trip when you feel "hunger". Then wait for about 20 minutes, and if you KNOW you need to eat, then do so.

Trust yourself!

And yes, do D3, which is Vit D in dry formula. Just make sure it's not the gel-tabs in oil.

Eating solid food instead of slider foods or liquids will satisfy your hunger better.  Even if you have to eat 5-6 small meals per day, get it some solid food.  To rectify low D, you'll need some DRY D3-- nothing with a oil suspension, as you wn't absorb it well.  The "oil D" is the cheap for of D3.  I buy the 50K iu dry D3 from Vitalady.com . It's cheaper than taking a bunch of smaller pills in the long run. You might try to start with 3 of the 50K IU dry D3 per week, and adjust your D intake as per the next lab test for D.  Crackers offer you virtually no nutrition, so it's a waste of the limited food intake.  D in oil is OK for preops, but not for post ops.
