Hello all!

I'm Sarah from Northwest Arkansas and I'm new to the boards.  I signed up for the site after my first visit to the surgeon, have done some random blogging, but am new to the message boards.

Quick background:  31yo, 248 SW, 241 CW, RNY, Sept 5.

I don't know all the lingo yet, so forgive me if I used something improperly!  Is there somewhere to go to learn what all the little anagrams are on these boards?  NSV, for example.  Seems to be something positive, but I can't figure it out.

At any rate, I thought I'd introduce myself.  In the few months I've been here I've already been extremely impressed and touched by the stories that for once...I can relate to.

With that said, i'm off to read more posts!

39 days and counting!!

love to all
x

Welcome!! I'm a newbie here as well.  I've been reading and reading and reading everything possible on this site and have learned so much.  I see my surgeon next Saturday to make the decision on which wls I want to go with and then I'll start working on the checklist the doc gives me!  I'm so ready for this!
Good luck to you on your journey!!!

Welcome to the boards.  Congrats on having your surgery date.  It is like a goal you are looking forward to.  Do you need to do a pre-op diet at all?

Hey Judy!  Thanks!  This whole process has been one goal after another, but for once, my success rate is really high!!  Nice change of pace!

yes, I will start a 2 week pre-op diet of 2 protein shakes and a "sensible meal" at my pre op appointment on the 23rd.  I've already made several changes to my diet, but that is when I'll make the first major switch to my eating habits.  Fortunately, I LOOOOOVE protein shakes.  I just have to sip slowly to make them last!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!
