well i  used it and  i heard all the horror stories about the side effects and such  but to be totally honest i had none  aside from lack of sleep at times but im not sure it was that .. none the less taking this med is great it works different from others  quit smoking  items  this med works on your brain receptor  which  makes you not  crave that smoke its actually the habbits that really make you want one ,   i actually did 2 packs before i quit  and to be honest i was smoking right thru and  just said i cant smoke anymore and i went  off the med and just  never took another smoke  i actually ate sunflower seeds when i  used to get the urge  but  i have 2 friends who totally  quit  3 weeks on  this  medication it really does work  its also helpful to  log on the website when you get your  pills and  read the blogs and  such as it helps   here  good luck to you as i know you can do  this  i smoked 2 packs faithfully   and i just stopped and im so happy  i did ,  its been since march 15th since my last  smoke ,      you just  have to remind yourself    you control the smoking dont let the smoking control you ,,,,,,,,,,,,    i hope this helps

My friend's husband used it, he did not smoke while he was on it. It gave him insane nightmares. He quit the Chantix and started smoking again.

It is probably worth a try.

I quit 17 years ago this month... I bought a pack and said it was my last. Marlboro lights in a box... ahh... I smoked them all by noon on July 27, 1995.  I never picked up another.  The only way that worked for me was hard cold turkey.

If I smoked one cig today, I would be up to a pack tomorrow.  That is a crazy powerful addiction.

I am proud of you for trying.  best of luck!!

Both my husband and I used chantix. My husband had tried quitting many times with no luck but with chantix it has been almost 4 years. It helped tremendously. The only side effects we had was the second week when we upped our dose we would feel slight nausea after taking the pill.It was very slight and only would last 10 minutes or so and only for a few days till we got used to higher dose i guess. We both had very vivid dreams which were funny(purple miniture polka dotted giraffes!!!!).We have both been smoke free for 4 years now.Good luck it is the hardest thing to do along with losing weight.
