Lei... I have only been on one cruise.... Cozmel... Grand cayman... Jamacia..... I loved it and all food was included, but as everyone has said, drinks and soda were not.... neither was tours.... but it was great fun... grand caymen has the MOST beautifull blue water, you can see straight thuough.... I went on my cruise in 90 and I was still the "short fat girl".... tried to kill my self on the Dunn river falls in Jamacia.... fat girls and climing water falls dont work....
thank goodness you wont have that problem.... Have a ball it will be great no matter where you go....... Kiwani
I have been on a number of cruises. I will be going on one Thanksgiving week. I have found that some the web site that claim they have incredible discount, don't always have the best discounts. I ended up booking this cruise with AAA. The prices were much better. The cabin was cheaper for a higher cabin category.
There is no other way for me to travel. You can do as much or as little as you want.
Some really good cruise lines are Holland American, Royal Caribean, Costa, Norweign and Princess. I stay away from Carnival, it seem to attract a really young and rowdy crowd. (I'm in my early 40s).
Lei, I work with a man who he and his wife go on one or two cruises a year. They always drive to Florida and leave from there because he says it's much cheaper than leaving from Norfolk. Also, he always books cruises that have "port charges" already included in the packages. His rule of thumb is, he tries to book cruises that cost less than $100.00 per day (ie: 6 night cruise for $499.00 is a good price). He shops online and they usually cruise on Carnival. Hope that helps.
WOW - you gals and guys are FANTASTIC!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my idle babbling and then following through with some helpful advice.
It's MUCH appreciated.
I realize Im (kinda) taking the easy way out by thanking all of you in one reply, but I swear, it's gotta be the time of morning - maybe traffic on the site gets bogged down, or something? ..but I have the hardest time replying to EVERYONE, and I have no patience for slow cyber lines.
Yes, I admit, I stand impatiently at the microwave too!
Thank you for all of the replies and extra thanks to those of you that have even gone so far as to send over links and offered to help with the researching. What wonderful and gracious people all of you are.
Hugs - Lei
Lei!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! How you doin' girl!!!
Mike and I are going on a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas and South America (courtesy of my future mother-in-law... love her!) Anyway, I don't know when your hubby gets back from deployment, but we leave from Florida Oct. 24th. You should get that cruise!! That'd be kinda neat, wouldn't it???
Just so you know, the closer the date is you buy tickets, usually they will sell you better rooms cheaper to try to fill up the nivest sections of the ship. Originslly we were on a 5-day cruise and they upgraded us for free to a 7-day, plus many times you can get a better room. Something to think about.
Love you girl!
Danielle
Hello girlfriend!!!! Wow, long time no see, and type!!
How are the wedding plans going? LOL, uh, hopefully at this late date they're all hammered out? Youve got to be a basket of excitement and nerves.
I was literally on my way off line when I got your message so I had to shoot out a quick response first.
I have a LUNCH DATE!
Just got off the phone with Track McCreary and we're meeting for a garden burger, yum!!! Granted, he waited till the last flippin' minute to call me on it. LOL, ya' think he realizes I have NO social life?
Anyway, as much as Id love (LOVE LOVE) to join you and your new hubby on the cruise (yep, I have no class when I can crash a honemooner on their vacation?) ...the 24th would be early. My hubby comes back the second weekend in November. LOL, Im a lil ditzy at times, but Im gonna wager he'd be a lil miffed if he came back and found out Id been on a cruise without him?
Okay sweet thang - I really need to run, have to jump in the shower and at least comb my hair before I run out the door.
Hugs and love,
Lei
