Very Frustrated -- Regrets

So I've just had my surgery Sept 13th and was doing great! Started out at 310 and got down to 304 prior to surgery... Had my first post op appointment with my Dr. Sept 24th and lost 11 pounds in 11 days down to 293!  I have been sitting at 290 for the last 6 days!!! is it normal to have a stall so early on?? I am fighting head hunger and so frustrated that I'm starting to regret this surgery because I'm so miserable!!! Seeing the number on the scale going down would make this process so much easier, because I would actually be seeing results! It's not like i'm doing anything wrong!!! I've been eating Greek Yogurt (100 cal, 13g protein) Isopure Drink (160 cal, 40g protein) Progresso traditional chicken noodle (100 cal, 7g protein) I should mention that I'm only eating the broth of the soup!

Anyone else go through a stall this early on? What did you do to over come it and how long did it last?

Save the anxiety, put your scale away. Go on a "scale diet" for 6 days of the week. Weigh yourself once a week. Follow protocol every day. Take your supplements. Exercise. Give it time.  You didn't gain all of your excess wt in a matter of 2 weeks, and you won't lose it that fast either. "Stalls" have happened to all of us. The surgery alone will not resolve excess wt issues, it's just a tool to help you lose the wt. You have to do the work and it does take time. DAVE

It's completely normal to have some stalls along the way, even early on in the process. Your body has a lot of catching up and adjusting to do, so don't fret.

Try taking weekly pictures of yourself or taking your measurements. Sometimes losses don't show up on the scale right away, but progress is happening.

Keep getting in your protein, staying hydrated, and getting exercise (as soon as your doctor clears you for it). Don't worry; the scale will be moving again before you know it.

Kick the scale under the bed and weigh yourself the same day, same way, and same time each week.  That will give you a true account of your progress, and yes, you will still stall, however its your body readjusting, and for me, it usually ended up in me dropping a size or two, so it became a happy event.

Yes, to have days/weeks when you lose nothing is very normal. Your body will go through this periodically, and you just have to stay on your plan.  Very typical, and nothing to worry about. Sometimes I wouldn't lose weight, but noticed my clothes were fitting more loosely. It seems that we can lose inches and not weight at times. Don't give in to regret so early out. You'll see results on the scale again, trust everyone who has been through this! :D   You sound like you're following a good food plan. :)

I seem to remember three being the magic number along the journey.  There was a stall at about 3 weeks, another about 3 months, another after another 3 months (6 months).  Your body is working hard to get rid of all your fat and it needs to pause and re-assess every now and then.  The stalls are very frustrating, but nearly everyone has them, so relax and just let it all happen.  When you are finding that you think you are hungry, get something to drink.  Oftentimes our bodies think they are hungry when we're just a bit dehydrated and need more to drink.  It really helps.

Im 3 weeks out today and have been stuck @ 233 for about a week now. I understand ur frustrations and emotions at this point. Ur post and the reassurance u got was helpful to me as well. Doesnt help that ive been hit w a head cold the last couple days and have no energy. We WILL overcome our first stall as well as those that are to follow!

I'm not worried it happens!!! i have trouble getting my protein down and i have been very nauseated. I just learned to take one day at a time and i know i will get there. Best of luck and keep your head up!!!
