Where to start?
I am 8 months post op & need to start moving. I should of done this long ago, but my schedule has been all over the place. I'm wanting to get into a routine & don't really know where to start. I live in ND & snow is just around the corner so walking outside will be almost impossible as I already have very week ankles & don't want to risk slipping & hurting myself. I think for walking I'm either going to walk the mall that is just across the street from where I live or join a gym. I need to start toning muscle too but really am at a loss as to where to start. It would definitely have to be something beginner to start with. Any suggestions?

honestly, if you have not been doing anything, I suggest you start with a walking program (Mall walking 3x a week for 30 minutes -- for example).
Lock your purse in the car so you can't stop to shop ---- don't let yourself miss 2 days in a row.
Then, once you are consistent for several weeks and feel like you can handle more, think about adding some resistance training (videos you can check out from the Library until you find one you like).
Often, we sabatouge ourselves when we try to do too much at once. Make one change at a time.

Honestly, I did nothing until about month 7 and still got to goal. I started with the exercise bike and did some light strength training. By about 12 months out I was using the elliptical and learned to love it
