Birth Control Pills = Bigger Boobs

nothing to do w/ WLS really... just the best place i could think of to ask such a direct ?

i started BC pills about 4-6 months ago & my boobs got bigger

even though my weight wasnt going up on the scale (RNY > 5 years ago & maintaining just fine), my boobs are definitely bigger - like a whole cup size bigger.

i have researched WHY people gain weight of FEEL like they've gained weight on the BC pill & i think i am experiencing that "increase in the SIZE of certain fat cells due to an increase in estrogen".  i know i can switch to a non-estrogen (progesterone only) pill to eliminate that side effect, but i dont want to go through the 3 months of nausea that it will take me to get used to another bc pill.  (my body really doesnt LIKE bc pills to begin with but my ovaries need them or they get outta whack.)

so to my ?

any of u with the swollen fat cell thing have any luck w/ switching to a progesterone only pill?  did u HAVE to do that?  did anyone have any luck w/ anything else?

thanks

i have noticed the same thing. and its kinda funny, before BC i noticed my girls were looking a little pancake like, and about a week after starting it they filled back out. my man didnt notice until i pointed it out, which is funny cause hes a boobs guy. he has noticed it since i said something. but i have 40DDD's. surprisingly i am really happy with them.

good luck finding the info you are looking for. i did think i as alone in this.

definitely not alone.  i asked my PCP about it (see my GYN later this month, so havent had a chance to ask him about it yet) - but according to my PCP, breast enlargement is "very common" on birth control pills.  so definitely not alone.

Mine got bigger also when I took some birth control pills to treat my PCOS, it was prescribed by my OB Gyne then. I don't know the real reason behind it, but I think it's because of the hormone estrogen.

it is the estrogen - that's y i was wondering if a progesterone only pill might be better for me.
