Anyone have united health care ( great lakes insurance) medicaid
If you have been seeing your primary care doctor for at least 6 months specifically for being fat and you can show that you have tried to take care of it without weight loss, then yes, you would not need to do an additional six months.
If you are starting to see a new primary care doctor, you will most likely need to do a new six months because the new doctor has never treated you for anything at all.

i have been seeing this one diet doctors since 2006 my PCP had me sign consent form for him to get my file from the diet doctor...i just got a new PCP, but the new doctor sent for my file from the old PCP so they still will have a record. i hope that is enough cause i have seen two diet doctors this year one i been seeing since 2006 so hopefully that works...i keep hearing ppl say you need it documented that u been over weight for a yr. hell all my files will say i been over weight since 2002 i haven seen under 180 since i had my first kid at 16
It took me 4 months from first visit with the surgeon to my surgery. It took me two and half weeks to complete all my required appointments and testing. However, I found out I had sleep apnea so it took 2 months longer than expected. If you are determined as I was, you can get everything done quickly!!!!
So did u already do any kind of weightloss program on ur own? Becuz I have united health Medicaid and it say they require 6 month documented weightloss with a doctor. How did u get around that. My first appt with the surgeon will be jan 4th 2013 so I'm trying to see how long from there I'll have to wait to get my surgery.
Mine didn't need a six month weight loss period at all. It may depend on what health issues you have. I had a lot of health issues that I needed to get this done sooner rather than later. I have been trying to lose weight on my own for like 8 years and nothing has worked. I jus****ched my weight go higher and higher!
