Alcohol use after RNY

I could have written this post word for word. I've experienced the blackouts too. They are scary as hell. My memory after a certain point is literally gone and I am not able to sleep it off. 10-12 hours later I'm still feeling it. Had to walk away from it completely.

I'm sorry to hear you went through that too... I'm just so upset and scared because of what happened during the black out... I just feel a mess right now...

I rarely drink alcohol.  Usually a small glass of wine when my sisters are visiting.  Actually, a lot of the things you read say a little red wine every day is good for the average person.  We metabolize it much differently, and I find I don't like the taste of alcohol when I'm alone.  While I enjoy a glass with my sisters, when no one else it here it tastes really bad for some reason.  I often think I want something to drink when I'm watching one of those British Murder Mysteries where everyone is in the library having a drink. I'll go out to the kitchen, get something, take a sip, and then I end up pouring it out because it's just not what I want.  I'm past my partying days, so this is just fine with me.
