PB2 Question
I have used PB2. It does not have the same "gelatinously smooth" texture as regular peanut butter. I prefer to use it in cooking. However the taste is quite similar. It is also healthier than store bought brands like Jiff. I personally think it is worth a try. I have friends who love it. By the way there is a chocolate PB2 available (which I have not tried yet).
It's partially defatted so you lose the thickness and mouthfeel of regular PB (taste it's peanut butter but not texture) I prefer it as a mix in for shakes http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2012/01/girl- scout-cookie-combat-2012.html and yogurt and dips things like that.
That is crazy that I just saw your post. We just got home from the grocery store where I purchased PB2 based on the suggestions from another post. OMG! Amazing. Tastes the same and is 85% less fat calories. All you do is mix 2 tablespoons of PB2 with 1 tablespoon water and whola! Peanut butter. Same consistency, everything!
To put it in perspective:
2 Tablespoons of Jiff Peanut Butter has:
-210 calories
-17g fat
-6g carbs
-3g sugars
-8g protein
2 tablespoons of PB2 has:
- 45 calories
-1.5g fat
-5g carbs
-1g sugars
-5g proteins
The price is just about $0.50 higher for PB2, but we have officially made the switch today!
