Now, I didn't mean to stir up a pot. I was in a bad mood that day and it does bother me (unsolicited opinions).

We all NEED each other for support or we wouldn't be here. The thing about such a large site (that's a GOOD thing!!!) is that that there are hundreds of opinions.

As for the opinion-happy people who think they know best, I believe it comes down to being uninformed. We have so far to go as far as awareness. When doctors are still so unfamiliar with our needs, isn't that a sign?

Someone mentioned doing the research on your own. That has been a gift to myself actually! I have been forced to learn on my own because I had a 'treat you then street you' surgeon. No after-support. Except here! So let's all get along!

Now for some humor: Someone recently asked me: "So which one didja have, the rubber band or the stomach stapling?" True story.

Yes, I have received a lot of "expert advice." I even had a co-worker ask me why I took the easy way out. While I was offended at first, I have come to realize that responses like that come from a place of ignorance and lack of education. As for me and mine... As my Dad says, "Never offer an opinion unless asked." Just be supportive. Luck to you! Kris
