The shakes after eating a banana
Sorry to highjack the post, but hey Linda_S, how have you been? Haven't seen you in awhile. Glad to see you on here. Always enjoyed your posts. Jane
Hey Jane! Good to see you too. I'm hanging in there, but not doing that great. Have had a small amount of weight re-gain -- my lowest weight was 170 -- so the doc still thinks I'm a 'success." However, I'm always sick and can eat basically nothing but protein and greens. I've got severe dumping and Hypoglycemia. Just got more blood results today and apparently also have a parathyroid problem. No wonder I'm exhausted and feel like someone beat me! I've started the process for a reversal/revision. Unfortunately, I'll probably be delayed further, as my surgeon is moving to Michigan and I'll have more trouble getting my ducks in a row now. Would like to get a DS with Keshishian down in CA, but not sure how that's gonna fly. With blood sugars as low as 23, I think I may be able to make a case for medical necessity.

Bananas are also on my "cautious" food list because their glycemic index is so high. I can do must other fruits without an issue but more than half a banana and wham, riding the dump-truck. I find that if I happen to eat something that starts the process (sleepiness & tachycardia are my first symptoms) if I eat something protein forward (cheese, nuts, protein bar) my symptoms last a much shorter amount of time.
