The summertime weather is here & it came fast. With humidity my stomach gets upset & I get lightheaded I usually drink flat coke for the stomach upset & drink oj for lightheadedness. I can't drink soda & I am not suppose to drink oj(and i don't have any in the house), I need to watch out for the membrane on the orange. My blood sugar is fine. See the dietician tomorrow for advise. Otc meds do not help as it makes it worse &no results. Any ideas? WLS 4/9/13 thanks

If you want OJ and you are worried about the membrane that is in it just strain it threw a coffee filter, it will take them all out. My plan said I can have juice that is watered down 40% juice and 60% water but check your plan.  I don't know what to recommend for the tummy since OTC stuff isn't helping, maybe see if you can get a script for Prilosect or Previcaid, they help me out a lot.

Thanks. Dietitian does not want us to have juice, wants us to "work" for it & I just happen not to have juice in the house or oranges, gotta go food shopping.

I wouldn't drink juice if you can get away with it. Try some propel water. Will only elevate blood sugar a tiny bit, unlike juice.

I have had the low-sugar OJ's (Trop 50, etc.) with no problem. You may want to try that. Also, could you try drinking flat diet coke? Just a couple of suggestions - hope you get your issues resolved soon!

I didn't know that they make low sugar OJ...gotta look for that. Don't tell any one but I did drink some of the flat soda and it helped. Thanks for your suggestions

Have you ever thought about caffeine withdraw? You may be experiencing that?

Thanks Sarah, no its not caffeine withdraw I had to be off of caffeine before my surgery and I could have little of coffee now I don't like the taste of it.  I think it was the combination of the heat and my dietitian thinks I might been eating too much at one time so I have really been watching how much I been eating and the weather is now nice and no problems. Thanks
