I waited about 7 months for coffee and diet soda...all is well.  Every 6 months check up my doctor has me fill out a profile and I list it as my source of liquids.  He has never sad anything about it, and BTW he serves coffee at the support group meetings every other month!

I love coffee but waited almost a year, that said I regret adding it back in as one black coffee became one decaf expresso which became a latte which became three venti Americano mistos and I am having a heck of a time breaking the habit, and my water consumption went down as well, so tread carefully, while SB might say there are only x calories that varies widely by just how much milk the barista puts in, etc., they free pour says my barista friend, and it makes me crave sweets, because I always ate sugar items with my coffee,it is mental, but the craving is there!

Drip coffee has more acid.  I mostly drink Americano's.  Espresso with ho****er.

I didn't drink coffee the first 3 months.

I drink and eat almost anything now-in moderation.  I also run at least 40 miles a week though too so take that into account.

I waited about 9 months or so.  I only drink one cup - in the morning- a day.

I also developed much more heart burn after surgery (the sleeve) so I get my calcium in with TUMS - again, not part of the normal advise of a lot of doctors - but I've had my calcium levels checked periodically and it works for me.

I used to drink a cup a day. Then I had LapBand and tried to drink some about 4 months later and it made me sick and to this day (almost 7 years) I can't drink it. With that said, you too might not be able to drink it anymore.
