I was just diagnosed with it yesterday. Does anyone have any experience with it?

My mom has that same thing in her Right hand... She had to go in and have the vein re-attached to her bone... then she was in a cast for a couple months and then she had to do therapy... it leaves a gnarly scare but she can use her hand again... every now and then it bothers her but those are few, mainly when she wakes up and gets her hands moving... I hope you the best...

Thank you so much! I don't care about scars. I just got the cast on Friday to see if immobilizing it for four weeks will help. The doctor wants another MRI in six months. It seems to me that five months is a long time to see if the blood gets moving again, but I don't know much about vascularization.

My mom had it in her left hand and didn't even know it!  We took her to the hand doctor for another problem and it was discovered.  She was in a cast for 3 months to see if it would help, but it didn't.  They had to go in and remove the dead/dieing bone from her hand, tighten the tendons and also did the carpal tunnel surgery on the same hand at the same time.  She's got most of the movement back but not her strength.  Was a tough surgery, but she made it through.  Lots of therapy afterwards also.

Most people have no idea what it is, so be prepared to explain it almost every time you talk about it and good luck ! :)
