Just wanted to share

I am at my one year point. I did well losing 136 pounds and 163 total. What I wanted to share is that I have a meeting with the local small business development center this month. It may be a pipe dream but I am looking to obtain money to start a 24 hour gym in my area. I want to cater to bariatric patients or people who need to lose 50 pounds or more. I think there is a market for this. I would be open to all but would have trainers sensitive to the needs of WLS patient and classes that are lower impact and geared towards bigger people. It may never happen as I lack funds but I am going to see if I can make it a reality. Just wanted to share with everyone.

Hope all goes well. It sounds like a great idea. Where are you thinking of locating this gym?

I live in Western, NY. There is a open spot in my town. It used to be pharmacy. If that does not work then there is a spot near a very busy grocery chain about ten minutes from where I live. There is a gym near the second location but it currently has not trainers and is not open 24 hours or cater to anyone.

What a great idea!  I hope you are successful in getting your dream off the ground.

What a great idea.  So many of us are intimated to even walk into a gym during and even after weight loss.  Hold on to your dream.  Even if it does not happen this time it will happen if you believe.  I think determination goes a long way.  I would go, but I live just outside nyc.  Wishing you all the best in your venture.  Congratulations on your weight loss .

I wish you luck, but just look around at all the gyms that are dark.  there is a reason for it.

Actually there is not really any dark gyms around me. There is actually not many at all. People here can use the high school or the local rec center for 20 a month but most do not even know that. Plus they are pretty little and no help. There is a chain gym I am a member of called ***** fitness but again not trainers and all kinds of people even though most are pretty nice. I am sure I will be doing more research once I talk to the SBA guy.

I applaud you for taking the ball and running with this.  I also suspect you will be VERY successful if you can manage to obtain the financing.  

If this type of gym was available in my area, I assure you I would be there in a heartbeat.

You can do this, just do not take "No" for an answer.

Thank you so much my mom thinks I am crazy because my wife is due in July and I am working full time and going to school part time. I just think it will be great and want to look into it. It may take a while but at least I will know which direction to go in once I meet with him.
