Finding a mental health professional

Sadly my surgeon is not located close to me, so his recommendations were all an hour drive away.  And the last time I asked my PCP for a recommendation, she suggested that I'd have better luck going through my insurance company!  I do have a list of about 20 or so local providers, so I'll start calling them tomorrow. :)

I found my therapist through my Employee Assistance Program, which also provided a financial savings for me. I specifically asked for someone who specialized in eating disorders because I felt that the whole dysmorphic thing I have going on was the biggest hurdle I had to address. I have found our sessions to be helpful. She is a LCSW by training.
