need tummy tuck approval from cigna!!

I have cigna and have not sent in my request but would like to know what I need to do.I have seen my plastic surgern but he does not deal with insurance I have too. So and I really would like him to do this procedure so I wont have to go out of town. But would like to know what I should send in to my insurance to try to get approved. What ever info I can get I will appriciate.

DOCUMENTATION...of any kind. Have you had rashes? Did you take pictures? Did you see your PCP for medication cream or powder? Do you have back pain? Pictures of the excess skin. Does it interfere with your daily quality of life? You will need a letter from either your plastic surgeon or PCP stating why the TT is medically necessary. I have Cigna, and while I haven't gotten the offical explanation of benefits, the summary stated that abdominoplasty and panniculectomy was not covered despite medical indications. But I am still going to try.

Hi Melissa, I too have Cigna and my summary of benefits pretty much said under no cir****tances will they cover it. Gotta love them. Cigna would have been the LAST insurance I would have selected but unfortunately this year my hubby's company went only with Cigna. Big disappointment as I knew I was going to want ps.
