Hi...anyone know if it is possible to have the RYN if you have celiac disease?

I don't know the answer...but I do know that the post-op diets for RNY and VSG are very celiac-friendly as you can easily avoid barley/oats/rye/wheat products eating just meat, veggies and fruit.

I don't have gluten allergy but I have (developed ??) gluten intolerance after RNY...

as long as you don't try to replace gluten foods with non-gluten starches and heavily processed foods - I don't see issue with RNY..

One of my wifes best friends found out she had doing pre op testing. She still got the RYN. So I would say yes.

I was going to echo what Tracy said.  I had an RNY in 2007.  I've developed severe reactive hypoglycemia and I can't eat any starchy things.  My diet is all protein and non starchy veggies, so I would think you'd be just find.  I'd double-check by asking the doc, but I'd say you're good to go.

I am not a doctor but I would think you would be able since it is a gluten allergy. I guess you would still have to watch what you ate.
