Pre-Op Liquids, liver shrinkage, 12 days or 7 days.
oh wow thank you!! omg this is so helpful! This sounds easier than I thought! I'm pretty determined once I have my mind set, and my mind is set on 2 weeks no cheating liquids only for my surgery! I can't believe it's actually all coming together, it's like a dream come true, a prayer answered for sure. I'm so excited for your surgery! I wish mine was next week too lol. Mine isn't until May 21 but that's still right around the corner, AAHHH!!
Sure!! I think it is so awesome you added an extra week on your own, in the long haul it will be worth it!! Last week (my first week) was a nightmare: headaches, freezing all the time, and of course hungry...I think it was just my body adjusting. But this week has started off great, I feel better, and have more energy. So when your week comes that truly counts, you will be ready!! Keep up the awesome attitude! I am soooo ready for surgery next Monday!!! I will try and keep you updated! :)
Hey thanks! Well also, I have been reading that so many people are placed on 2 weeks diets so if so many people can do it and stick with it, I can too! I hope I don't have headaches! I very rarely do anyways! But yeah, another reason why I would like to add a week is so that when the hospital does the pre admission testing, hopefully the diet will help with blood pressure maybe, or just my overall health when they draw blood and stuff. It's a shot in the dark, and it can't hurt to try! yes, keep me posted! Post op I've read is a whole different world! I can't wait to be on the other side of this with you soon!
I am also a pre op diet. I have 1 week to go. I found the DaVinci syrups that you can add to shakes to be a life saver. I love the coconut and caramel sugar free yum!
really? I didn't even think about that! I love the shakes as is, but I think I will try that just for some variety sometimes!! I had a trial run today and it was very doable! I had Tom Yam broth with some basil, cilantro, green onions, chili powder, lemon, ginger and jalapenos in it, and then strained....tasted so good! and only 30 calories!
Hi, I'd stay away from sf pudding in the pre-op stage unless your dr said it was ok, save the pudding for later. Congrats for starting your pre-op liquid diet ahead of time, getting over the carb withdrawal might be a little hard but it'll get easier in time. I had to go thru a month of the liquid diet pre-op and am going thru 2 weeks thin liquid post op, just got back home yesterday. You might want to try Bariatric Advantage sample packs, just to see what you'd like and if your tastes change post op, also my bariatric pantry & nashua nutrition & celebrate vitamins websites has sample packs. I've had unjury protein products b4 and didn't care for them. I'll try them again since I'm post op now & see if my taste for them has changed. If you like tea try sport tea it clamps down on hunger pangs & is tasty, just something to add to your arsenal!, Good luck!

yeah I thought so! No pudding for me, so I just set it aside for after surgery when I'm in the puree stage lol. AND THANK YOUUU!!! Sport Tea sounds awesome! This is exactly what I need! as much in my artillery as possible lol. When you finished surgery, how did you tastes change? like did you not like sweet things anymore? What did you gravitate to??
I haven't noticed my tastes change, I figured I'm too early yet in my recovery to make any final judgement calls. I'm just concentrating on getting my fluids in, & then the protein shakes. I try to get 1-2 protein shakes. I'm tasting a little of everything & seeing what stays down, been sipping all day, so far, so good. The hospital doesn't let anyone leave till they can drink 1000ml of fluids in a day with no problems.
