Irritable bowel since recent hernia surgery

Since my hernia repair and adheasion surgery last Thursday, I have been unable to eat anything but oatmeal without cramping (i even use cream & brown sugar with no problem). Anything else, including bars and room temp drinks cause lower bowel probls, no smelly gas, but painful cramping and urgent runs.. I handle it with codene and 10 mg flexaril. The former makes me spacy, the latter, tired.

   We are traveling, so I'll have to keep up this regime until i see my PCP on Friday. I use to suffer from chronic irritable bowel, but the ds surgery seemed tp solve it. I did not have this after the repair surgery i had 2 1/2 mo ago. Just since this one. Anyone else have non smelly gas (little gas at all)and cramping? Can it be treated just like a normal person with irritable bowel. That is, with drugs to slow bowel motility? 

I'm calling a bariatric surgeon in seattle area tommorrow, but doubt I'll get in right away. I just want info to take to the PCP.
