Having foamies, HARDCORE

I have some chewable papaya enzyme here that helps dissolve food.  If you get some keep an eye on the sugar content.  I've used it a few if times and things have cleared, but I can't be sure it was the papaya and not it just clearing in its own.

I don't have any advice, except I would probably just do shakes for the rest of the day. After throwing up, things tend to be swollen and a bit angry.

Most def! That was my surgeons parting words at discharge lol. "You'll find once you do throw up, your stomach is going to be pretty pissed off and you won't eat for a day or so"

I'm just now nursing water again. Room temp smar****er. By now I'd have almost 24 oz of water, but so far today I have zero thanks to foamies. So far no issues.

I advanced rather quickly in my diet as well, as long as I tolerated it.  I ended up in the ER at 10 days post op with what I thought could have been a damaged pouch.  Turns out that very lean ground turkey is not really great that early, even though it technically fell into what I was allowed by my surgeon.

It's going to be hit or miss with some things, and it may be that something that you tolerate well one day will mess you up bad the next.  good luck to you!

I had RNY so I know it's a little different, but some days I can tolerate things and other days I can't tolerate the same things. Early out I did great on eggs, then I had a couple weeks where they made me sick, and now I can eat them again.  Sometimes it just doesn't make sense and you just have to try things again another time ;)  Good luck!

Oh and I have found that after my stomach gets upset some hot tea (ginger tea) really helps calm it down.

I did have an issue early on with homemade egg drop soup.

My mouth started watering like I was going to hurl and spent a while in the bathroom dry heaving into toilet.

I would maybe see if you can isolate the cause- chocolate shake or egg-

Was it the speed in which you ate/drank?

Let us know what they say

The foamies suck. I do worry about eating "solids" this early out though, I understand the concern of others (even if expressed in a different manner) it was explained to me that your stomach needs time to heal and you don't want food stuck in the healing areas. my first two weeks were clear liquids with the exception of protein shakes. Every now and then eggs still make me foam a little.. so that might not ever go away

Liquids only for 1 week - that was my directions. I was allowed to lick the lid of a greek yog container.  And then to soft foods (I did not do a pureed stage), so my doctor does not delay you, but I cannot even imagine eating real food so soon.  I don't know if I have any good advice for you, although I cannot understand the rush to add regular foods.

You're only a week out - so you shoudl still have your eating "training wheels" still on.   I had this a few times until I figured out when I was full.  Check with you dr - occasional foamies are annoying, but not dangerous.  Real vomit is a bad sign.
