And I loved that he had overweight people in his exercise videos!! Jane Fonda videos, and others like hers, made me feel like a loser because they were filled with perfect looking people.

I loved Richard Simmons! I did deal a meal and the excercise videos and it was the most successful plan I'd ever tried. (Other than this surgery of course) Then I got pregnant.....

I wish we knew what was actually going on with him.

A constant butt of jokes but he made me feel like I was worth it.

I read he was on General Hospital as himself for 4 years, then had his own "The Richard Simmons Show" for 4 years later on.

yes - he was on General Hospital at one time. I'd forgotten about that. I don't know for how many years, but I'm pretty sure that's what launched his career.
