Eating Out

I actually don't eat veggies yet, so I haven't ordered a salad. I haven't had a raw veggie in 5+ months I do miss them. I can eat about 3-4 shrimp, sometimes fish goes in better for me than other proteins. I don't vomit, but that's because I hate it so much I'm terrified of getting to that point.

I was a puker early on, I couldn't help it! Many foods that would agree with me one meal would literally not sit the next meal and I'd end up getting sick, this was especially and issue if I had ANY fluids too close to eating. Keeping my fluid intake up AND my food intake at a reasonable amount was impossible for so long that I depended on 3 shakes a day for probably too long!

I've always been picky, so everyone that knows me is used to it.

I hate for my food to touch, I won't eat it if it is touching

I have to have my food piping hot or I won't eat it.

So the way I eat now (and I eat normally now, you wouldn't know I had surgery if you saw me eating out), raises no eyebrows.

Being a life long special snowflake has some advantages.

Is it judging to connect the dots between our culture's eating habits and our culture's obesity problems? I've NEVER said a word to anyone else about how they "should" eat. Sometimes people ask, and I tell them what works for me. I am sure that in time I will be able to eat out without noticing what is going on around me. It was my first foray into the food world post-op.
I agree with you: It is difficult to watch what amounts to self-destruction. And yes, there but for the grace of God and my insurance go I. Help me to stay the course, mind my macros, and not falter or become over confident!
