WOO!!!! HOO!!!
Hey everyone! I had a dr appt yesterday. I was told at my last appt (Aug 17th) that I had to lose 15lbs in order to qualify for surgery and I had to get my a1C below 8.5. On the 1st of September, I bought a huge load of Premier protein RTD shakes and decided that's all I was gonna eat/drink for the next 12 days, and that's exactly what I did!!! Got to my appt yesterday and I'm down 7lbs!!! I have to see a pulmonologist on the 25th of September so he can clear me for surgery, so I have 3 more weeks to lose another 7lbs!!! I also found out that my a1C is at 6.9 and my LDL cholesterol is at 52, down from over 200 6 months ago!!! I'm going to continue only drinking the shakes and hopefully the next 7 lbs will drop off!!! Thank you to EVERYONE who suggested I try the shakes because without your advice, I would never have lost any weight!!! Will update when my surgery gets scheduled!!!
That's great!

Congratulations, that's great! You'll be fine with the preop diet and post op liquid stage if you're able to do this already, with your full stomach. You'll rock weight loss surgery!

great.
Just make sure you supplement with some vitamins or minerals that the shakes do not provide. I had to do a 4 weeks preop diet and I was told I could use that as long s I can take multivitamin with it - one a day. something like Centrum or Centrum Equivalent. pre-op we need 100% RDA of vitamins and minerals. Post op - we often need 200%, or more - depends on the lab results.
