Topic: RE: Safe anti-inflammatories???
I'm on an antiinflammatory - naproxn - twice a day and also take one aspirin a day. The doctor said taking these would be fine, with no problems. I see her next week and I'll be sure to check again to make sure.
Topic: Psoriasis
Hello!
I'm scheduled for RNY on Monday, July 20. I've had severe plaque psoriasis most of my life and I was wondering if anyone here has psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis and how if was affected by surgery and subsequent weightloss.
Thanks so much!
Jen

Topic: RE: Torn Meniscus?
Perhaps you could see if there is an OPEN MRI in your area.
MRI is the best test for soft tissue damage.
I know the 105 yr old feeling - if i sit very long- its like my knees just seize up from my osteo. Hope you find out what's up with your knees...

Topic: RE: Water Aerobics
HI!
When you said your surgery is closing in I expected to see the date in a week or 2. From my calendar you have about 4 months till surgery..
I know it goes by fast but if you could find the time to go and try it out for the first time you just may enjoy it! AND find it very helpful.
In fact, just walking back and forth in a pool is good exercise- very gentle on joints.
In the past I had participated in a water aerobics class and it was very pleasant- then again- I love the water.
If you can try it now- you may find you will want to continue after your surgery.

Topic: RE: Anyone Develop Rhuematoid Arthritis Resulting From WLS?
I was just diagnosed with RA. I got it after my revision from BG to DS with complications. I was in the hospital for weeks. I think the trauma to my body, or maybe some medication or anesthesia brought it out. I was so sick from my first flare up (unable to walk, severe pain, fevers over 101), I was hospitalized yet again.
Topic: RE: RA pain
I have severe RA and had gastric bypass 4/08.. I still get my usual flare ups.. I am on Rituxan and I always feel "achey".. I think maybe our bodies are trying to recoup from the surgery and weight loss. I don't know either, sorry I can't help you.. But contrats on your weight loss and excercising. I don't do any excercise but I know I should...Good luck on your loss.
Topic: RE: I need help with an Appeal letter....
hey, i take meds that i am not able to take if i had the RnY too, so there other options; the VSG probably would work amazing for you since you are considered a lightweight when it comes to WLS. - also if you can get the doctor to state that if you lost the weigt then, less medications with be needed to treat your RA both now and in the future, that is a great reason for the insurance to reconsider!!!!Hope this helps
Topic: RE: Tired all the time
Prednisone can cause SERIOUS weight gain. I let them give it to me only when I can't breathe and my fingernails are turning blue.
