How has it been since surgery. I am going through the process right now. I have a couple of tests left. I too have RA and am worried about taking my meds. But the Rheumy Dr. said I can take injection form of meds if it comes down to it. Has it helped you, the surgery , I can't wait until I can get moving without this weight and without pain.

I would love to here from you.

Because He Lives....
Hi,I can not comment on the medical part. However,as far as not being able to exercise and still losing the weight, that's a big yes. I use a walker so I never walked far, just had to tell myself all movement is good movement, even going to the kitchen. My nutritionist gave us a range of amounts to eat the lower part being for the low to no exercising,to the more active.
I always ate on the lower part of the scale, but I ate well.I was advised under eating would not make me lose weight, but would make my body hold on to the fat.
So,the short answer is yes you can. I am blessed that I live in Phoenix because I could use the pool, and I do not swim, but I could do bicycles and jumping jacks arm circles, and such,I am weightless in the pool and took my pain pill first, which once again,I am NOT advising you to do.I also was never in the pool alone.
Much luck to you!
We have season passes to the zoos and Sea World, but I just realized I'd have to go in a wheelchair. Did that once and it was awful. I'm finding all the things I wanted to do after my RNY, that I'm not doing because of my knees.
