Topic: DUCK: White crested Pekin Ducks
I have a a couple 2 and The male decided he was in the mood to mate yesterday. The female has been perched on 14 eggs for the last 2 weeks. Well Yesterday he almost PECKED her eye out. It was a bloodied mess. Does anyone know anything about these beautiful Ducks. I never realized the males could be so aggressive......
The Female is wounded but back on her eggs. Good momma to the end I guess....
Thanks for the advise.

Welcome to bird lovers!! We are all bird crazy. Love my U2 and Congo. They are great. We had a Blue Front Amazon. We REALLY miss him. Amazons are just crazy birds that's why I love them.
The goffins are sweet. I would not mind having one but DH is an
for putting up with my Too. She starts her yapping at 5pm. She is a top notch snuggler though . Does anybody else have beak holes in their t-shirts besides me? She knows when its time for mama to walk in the door.
Silly bird!

That's nothing. I have 3 goffins all rescue bird. One I have 5 yrs now and could not live without. He is about 20-25 yrs old. He was a wild caught bird. The other two came to us from a couple that would scream at them to "Shut the F*** Up" and the birds would scream back. They are happy quite birds here with us. On top of that we have a pair of orange winged amazons that we have been trying to breed. No luck so far. And to add to our house of birds we have 8 cages of tiels pairs that we breed. We have 3 babies tiels right now and lots of eggs.

Hi David!
Welcome, glad you found the bird lovers forum... not a busy board but hey we can still talk about the feathered loves of our life here. Only a bird lover will understand another bird lover right! I have a Congo Grey 6 mos old and Umbrella Too... I love them dearly. My 'Too has started plucking feathers because she has been cooped up indoors. Winter is tuff on her. She has a huge outdoor aviary and she LOVES it out there. Today is our first sunny warm day in a long time... she is outside now. And prancing happily back and forth doing her happy dance.
Hope she forgets about plucking her feathers!
Feel free to drop a line anytime!

Thanks for your reply Janice. If Lil Chicklet never uttered a word I would love him just the same. I just know that little grey noodle of his working it all out. He is such a sweet little guy I love him.... !

Every bird is different just like we are all different. A lot of Greys are talking by now but they are also always learning so he could just be a late talker. I have several birds including a Quaker which they say usually talk while still hand feeding. Well my Pickles didn't talk till probably 9 months or so. Keep talking to him and he'll come around if he is going to be a talker. If he never talks though remember to love him for the wonderful bird I'm sure he is! Enjoy your sweet little guy!!

Hi All Birdie Lovers!
I have a Congo that is 6 months old... should he be starting to talk yet? He just whistles and peeps a lot.. and makes baby noises when I am near. I always talk to him. Am I expecting him to talk to soon?
Just curious.... I think he is a smarty pants and he is just holding out on me. Probably talks a storm to the dogs and the 'Too while I am at work.
