OT: Any Florida recommendations?

Hi all,

I will be in the states in April and decided to take a side trip to Florida. Anybody have any recommendations on places to stay in Tampa or St Petersburg?

Hey,
I visited Tampa a couple of years ago. I didn't do a lot in Tampa because Orlando was only about 45 mins away.. We rented a car and went to the parks and events there. Had a ball!

Depending on the time in April-- you will be in the heart of SPRING BREAK!! St. Pete will be a ZOO--- actually any of the beaches will be a mad house.

...of all the times I've visited Tampa/St.Pete we were on vacation and staying in vacation rental homes......not sure if thats what you lookin for....of course plenty of hotels are there....hey google the area...Tampa has it's good/bad areas....like most cities of course...we always stayed near the Bay area..very nice....and I loove the water.

If at all possible, stay out of Orlando during April. Miami and Ft Lauderdale (if you can come that far south) is the place to be. Depending on when in April, you can find a few festivals. But yes, any beach in florida will be packed! enjoy!!!!

thanks, I have never been to FL and I just want soem sun soooooo bad so I figured it ahd to be pretty easy to find a place to park myself near the beach or a pool and jsut relax
