Ok,  ,y surgery is next tuesday and I don't want to look a hot mess, scare myself or the staff.  However I don't want to spend a arm & a leg on my hair for a 3 night stay but, I can't leave it down , as it will be in big dookie dreads in the back, if  I sleep with it down for more than a day.  However I don't know if pulling it back will be that much better.

So what did you do about this problem?

I often pull my hair back with with some leave in conditioner while wet.  It dries in place and stays for about five days with a loose shower cap style silk cap over night.  Yea, I'm that lazy.

For my surgery, I had flat iorned my hair with a little creme press turning the ends under the week before.  Same cap over night.

Thanks MSW. I had thought about getting my hair flatironed, but doing it myself takes forever.  I might have to see if I know someone w/some marcells.

I got braids for surgery and I think that is the best way to go so you know it'll stay in place.

Good idea, the last thing you need to be worrying about after surgery is yo hair.

True, true.  Too bad they don't make a quick weave for this type of situation!

I would suggest getting some braids ...doing your hair will be the last thing you will want to do during the first two weeks post-op or get a wig to wear during recovery.......if I didnt have dreads thats what I would have done

Is my hair (1-2 inches stretched out) long enough for penitentiary braids?

So Blessed!
