Family watches what I eat and question things. I should clarify-my parents do. My weight has always bothered them much more than it has ever bothered me.
My friends are encouraging. We don't talk about my efforts, when they knew I was having port problems they'd ask how I was feeling, but never specifically about the weight. They'd always still invite me out, but always made sure a Band friendly dish was available.
Coworkers-can be haters. Thats all I got.
I'm a hermit, self professed spinster-I don't go out much but when I do I notice I certainly can't drink like I used to.

It's easier to tell em' all to kiss my azz . . . it an't dragging on the flo' no more so it's easier to get to.
I'm kidding . . .

Yes, some of my relationships has changed.
I had a friend for 25 years who , as she claimed "jealous, but in a good way" and tried her damnest to get a doctor (any doctor) to recommend her for surgery (even though she did not need it). She wanted to as thin or thinner than me (never mind the fact that when she lost the weight she would look like a crackhead). I don't talk to her much now. I know she has issues with me losing the weight, that is her issue. She told me long time ago that she "would have a complex if I was thinner than she was".
I might have had another friend (via work, but now retired) who has cut me off completely due to the weight loss, but I cannot prove it. That hurt me.
I have more friends now who either had wls or is seriously considering it.
I had the support of my family 130% from the very beginning. I am so thankful for that.

Without struggle, there is no progress.
Thankx 4 all of the answers... guess some things are the same and then some depend on he person. I have a friend who had wls years ago and she was supersensitive about her weight when she was big,,,she says her life didn't start until she lost the weight...I disagreed with her and said that it depends on the person...some people didn't let their weight stop them from living a full life when they were heavy.
