Hello Angela, I see you have gotten some really great advice from the community. I have been a personal trainer for over 10 years and I have encountered couples who have the same issues as you have. I have trained so many people I have been an "ear" on both sides. I have trained the spouse who has been pushed by there spouse/significant other to much and it has caused issues and I have trained people whose significant other provides no support. And I have encountered people whose significant other does like your husband who pushes to an extent and backs off.
There is no easy answer for you. I have seen couples fall apart and have seen some get stronger. At the end of the day your mental and physical health is what is at stake. I believe you and your husband will be happier when you are healthy. The solution to your problem is simple, eat right, exercise and lose weight. However, the process of doing those things (eating right, exercising) can be difficult. This is where discipline with your eating and working hard comes into place. I think the help you need is within you. Sure the community, your husband can encourage you but at the end of the day you have to put in a whole lot of work to get the weight off.
I have seen relationship blossom when the person improves their health (which usually comes from weight loss). They become more confident, happier, etc. but it starts with understanding its a long, hard journey and there is no way around the discipline and determination it takes. Most people would rather give up on the sacrifice it takes to eat right and the consistency of training hard and settle for not being happy because they are not willing or up for the challenge. It may be harder for you to lose weight with PCOS but not impossible which means you will unfortunately have to be even more dedicated.
One of those weeks TOM is on her way in a few day. was down to 215 this week. Cannot complain I wasn't really moving this week. I'm on the hunt for 210 in the next 3-4 week. I gotta get moving, and I noticed I have replaced some water with coffee. SO I am limiting myself to two coffees per day, which I will soon cut down to one. I did boot camp at the gym nearby my house today. I surprised myself. I was moving at brisk pace on push ups, and all the abdominal work. I did great tat the squats, but I have realized my lunges need work. I've never really bothered with them. But the trainer does, so I am practicing those and bicyle twists all week. The bicylce twists really had me at my limit of my coordination abilities. Thank God I wasn't chewing gum or it would have all fallen apart. LOL. I was disappointed there weren't planks. I had just gotten good at those!
Have a great one, Love to all,
Kiri
Down a whopping 7 pounds this week. This, after being down 0 pounds last week. I'm assuming I probably lost a few of the pounds last week, and a few more this week, and that the scale was just playing silly water retention games last week and that's why it registered as 0.

Happy birthday Melinda!

Now, I know that may not be something that just rolls off the tongues of most of us, but in this case, I couldn't be more happy. I just called to be sure that my allergy testing and chiropractor appointment would be covered. Yep 100%. Then, I took a deep breath and asked how much my WLS and hospitalization would be...100% COVERED! Are you kidding me? I am floating on a cloud right now. I can go into that surgery even more excited because I won't have to sell my first born to pay for this fabulous opportunity to change my life for the better.

T, hope you had a wonderful birthday :)
I celebrated my birthday this last weekend since mine is tomorrow - hard to do much in the middle of the week. So I didn't go crazy but I did have a bit too much angel food cake (sugar free) with sugar free strawberry sauce. Speaking of which I had some more last night. I need to have DH throw the rest away because I will not be able to resist if it's in the damn house. But I did still manage to lose 1 pound so that's a plus. I am getting nervous because I have 2 vacations coming up - 1 is next week in GA but that's a wellness retreat so I'm hoping I will be able to maintain or lose. It's just hard to judge portions elsewhere you know? The other is in a month and that one I'm worried about!! It's a book conference for a week and I'm going with 2 foodies who know I had WLS and are super supportive but still...also I will be at the conference all week and standing lines and that seems like it will be difficult to eat healthy since there isn't much beyond beef jerky that's easily carried like that. I don't eat protein bars but I guess I might have to.

Thank you for that. Truly.
When I first met with my surgeon and expressed my interest specifically in the sleeve, we reviewed my extensive medical history (including what I'd done with the ENT re: GERD and her saying that I had done all I could do - all that was left was surgery). We discussed pros and cons of each procedure and he believes the sleeve to be the best option for me. From my (annoyingly extensive) research... yay OCD... and talking with the LRNPs and dietitian in addition to the doc it seems the right way to go. I'm not anti RNY, but am not excited at the thought of my digestive tract being rearranged. I know people who've had RNY and have been more than pleased with it. I just consider the risk/benefit ratio and the sleeve wins out.
I really do appreciate your concerns and suggestions. I guess I was feeling less-than welcomed. I also start the pre-op liquid diet tomorrow so my mood has tanked and I'm super cranky.
