I see VSG to RNY's on here a lot. It's sad.
Won against big bad (SoCal) Kaiser for a Duodenal Switch  Haven't heard of DS? Kaiser wants it that way. Come on over & read the truth
Hit goal (Normal BMI) on 2-10-11!    I LOVE my DS!!
My approval process timeline:

Honestly, I'll bet she did get revised from a sleeve to an RNY by some RNY butcher. I've seen RNYers talk about this kind of revision. This is why it's so dangerous to be an uninformed patient, yanno?

With great power (the DS!) comes great responsibility.

That's criminal, I just can't believe a real surgeon would so such a thing; I mean my gosh, this is someones life we're talking about here.

The surgeon she has listed is not a DS surgeon, so maybe she did get an RNY.  It borders on malpractice to me.....and also a shame that she didnt do the research.  Wonder how she ended up wtih a sleeve to begin with?  If she found her way to a sleeve, you would think she would be a little better educated on all her options.

I'm wondering the same thing Joanne; how in hell do you find your way to getting a VSG, then not have sense enough to get it revised to DS and get a revision to RNY. Makes no sense what so ever.

I see the OP on your linked thread never came back to you with more info.  Many people are in the habit of calling anything that isn't a band device "gastric bypass."  We can hope she got the appropriate surgery?  My first follow up with my PCP following my DS. I was giving the notes and updates to his nurse before he came in.  I was carefully explaining the difference in DS from other more common procedures.  She appeared to listen attentively and then I watched her write on my chart "had gastric bypass."   Oh, well.
