I'm so sorry for your loss.   I understand your anger.   I was the same way when my youngest brother died in 2005.     His life had been so unfair since he was a very little boy and then as an adult but relatively young man, died of medical mischance.

I hate that such horrible things can and do happen to such wonderful people.

So sorry for your loss, (((Bearmom)))  .

It sounds like going to the afterlife was a relief for him, as much suffering as he was in during this life, as you mention ..

Very noble that your nephew decided to donate his body for medical study ..   People often don't realize how needed that service is ..  Medical schools and such, as I found out to my surprise and frustration when my parents died, are very picky as far as donors ..   They generally will not accept as a donor anyone over a certain age, someone who was a diabetic, persons with any major diseases, or even obese donors  .. Similar restrictions for organ transplantation purposes ..  I guess the idea is, as far as for medical study purposes,  they want students to learn from a "normal" representative of the human body  ..

btw, anyone who is interested in being a donor should fill out a donor declaration statement.   In my home state, they do not even have to be witnessed or notarized.  You just put down for which purposes the donation is made and which parts of the body you wish to donate (some forms have a checklist for that purpose) ..  Be sure that you give it to your regular doctor or a trusted famly member to keep until it is needed .. If you have a living will or durable healthcare power of attorney, you probably want that person to keep it as well and in the same location (do NOT keep it iwth your will, as many times that is not viewed until quite some time following passing, esp. if the will is kept in a lock box, safe deposit box, or such a secure place  ).  Presentation by them of the declaration will save time and a lot of red tape for the family in ensuring your wishes are carried out ..

I am so sorry for your loss.  I hope in the days ahead you will find peace in all of this.  Sometimes life is just simply not fair.  You and your family will be in my prayers.
