Hi Everyone,

Can someone tell me if there is a huge differance between protien shots vs protien shakes? Is there a good protien shot out there? I just bought a few from wally world, and was able to drink without any problems. I have recently, started having trouble with ALL shakes.

If you have a good brand, or if you feel its not a good protien please let me know your thoughts.

Well, everybody here knows I would take a protein shot over a shake any day or night.  Most people here advise against the shot but I think that's because a shot will NOT fill you up like a shake and you will eat something or be hungry sooner.      Let's all be honest here.  I would like for a doctor or nutritionist to respond.

I also like extra protein milk.  Not the muscle milk type stuff, but real protein milk.  I can drink it everyday.

Thanks for your response...

Are you talking about regular milk? or is there a milk called "protein milk"?

What kind did you get?  I am having trouble getting the shakes down too, and really need to start upping my protein intake.

The protein "shots" are not as nutritionally beneficial as whey isolate based protein shakes, but if it's a "shot" or nothing, then by all means, drink the shot. Just transition to other kinds of protein as you are able.

There are a couple of clear protein drinks that are whey isolate based, whose names I can't recall. I thought they tasted like monkey butt, more so even than shakes, but some folks love them. Taste buds are strange things.

IsoPure is one of the clear whey drinks. Tastes like bottled vomit.

LOL, and the worst part  is that is your favorite one.

I actually enjoy the Champion Whey Stack, but my taste buds are so screwed up, that I haven't tasted one I didn't like.   I ordered about 20 different samples from Vitalady, and while some weren't friendly to my intestines, I thought they all tasted great.

Some of them taste fine, but none of them sit well with me so I don't do them.

There is some kind of protein shot that the protein is not very beneficial for us, but I don't remember what it is or if it's all of the shots.  Perhaps someone else will chime in with more details.

My favorite protein shot, though -- Ricotta cheese!

I live in central Texas and here HEB grocery stores rules.  They sell a their milk brand called Mootopia.  It is lactose free, extra protein and delish.   I drank 1/2 gal in 1 1/2 days, plus my water intake.  It's that good to me.  It looks & tastes just like regular milk, only a little less sugar.  They make regular 2% and skim/fat-free, and chocolate variety. It's yummy.  There are other brands.  I think Borden has an extra protein milk and I think there is another one. I used to have the name of a few brands that was in some pre-op stuff I had.  You can't cook with it though, it lumps up.
