Setting a goal weight....before pic

Okay so it's a "before I gained 50 pounds back" pic........LOL  I was looking through pics on my iphone today trying to find an avatar and I came across this one that got me thinking.  I have set my goal weight for 140 pounds (I am 5'5")  I have no clue what a good weight would be for me b/c I've never been at a healthy, normal weight.  So my question is this....do you think I would be healthy 50 pounds lighter than this pic?  I was 191.5 here.  I definately needed to lose a lot more, I just want to be realistic and that is hard when I've never weighed in the normal range.  I guess it doesn't even matter, but it does if I try to figure out my excess weight loss percentage!  And also, it's gonna bug me if I'm still considered overweight, which I will be, even at 151!

Edited:  Cannot get it to copy here :(  I added it to my "photos" and titled it "Setting a GOAL".

You were able to post your pic when I was putting mine up for reference.  If you're saying that this is you at about 190 & want to lose another 50 pounds & are asking if you think that's too much . .. I would say (IMO) absolutely YES!  You look quite thin in this picture & I would NEVER have guessed that you were 190.  Woman, you look dayum good!!!!

LOL!  Thanks, but remember I said this was BEFORE I gained 50 back so I'm not lookin that good right now!  I think when I was that weight I was seeing a lot of weight still to lose, but looking at it now....I'm thinking I might look sickly at 140!  Maybe I'll set my goad at 155.....thanks for answering!  (and making me feel good....about the way I don't look anymore!)

I'm 5'4.5"  (to be exact!)  In this picture, I am 154, technically in the overweight range by BMI standards (26).  Keep in mind, though, that I exercise A LOT.  At this point, I was averaging about 6 hours/week of a cardio/strength mix; therefore; I have more muscle & less fat than someone who doesn't exercise.  If I wasn't much of an exerciser, at 154 pounds, I would look heavier & I would be physically larger.

awhhh you are so CUTE and dainty!!!  Well, that answers some of it, b/c I was definately doing about 6-8 hours of BodyPump/Cardio in this pic so I'm sure I was muscle under the fat.

So maybe 160 of hardcore muscle with a little flabby skin stuck in there for good measure! HA!  Thanks again!

No prob & I feel like a big ole heel now - didn't mean to make you feel bad!!!

In all honesty, I'm 9 pounds lighter now & am thinking of losing more for those "problem" areas, despite everyone telling me that I look thin & I would probably look sickly if I lost more.  Maybe they & you are right - maybe 140 would be too thin.  Maybe we are just used to focusing on our problem areas b/c we're used to wanting to lose weight.  *SIGH*

Bottom line is just to be happy & healthy for us both, right?  :)

I was totally kidding about making me feel bad!!!  Looking at this pic reminds me that I will feel so much better about myself within a few months after surgery.  Especially if I can lose 20 beforehand.

Sometimes I think people are so used to seeing us fat, that even when we get down to a normal "skinny person" weight, they view us as overly thin.  I'm just afraid that my face and neck are going to look gaunt before my butt hits a size 12 (I was a comfortable/loose 16 in that pic)

Maybe when someone says we are too thin we could just moon them and show them our problem areas up close and personal!

Hijack -- Lisa, I've been thinking for weeks that you look like someone famous and I couldn't put my finger on it. But this photo helped me realize who it is. You look a lot like Alyssa Milano! Absolutely beautiful!

To the OP--I agree with everyone else that another 50lbs below your weight in that photo would be waaaay to small on you. You look awesome in that pic and I also would not have guessed you're 190 there. You carry your weight well. With the DS I believe you will easily drop below that 190 mark, but I think you'd look anorexic at 140. I can't imagine how gaunt you'd look at anything more than 15-20lbs below 190.
