Hi all,

For the last few weeks I've been experiencing some rather intense pain where my underarm meets my sagging, but still substantial right breast.  I guess it's muscle pain - something certainly IS pulling in a way it's not meant to.

This is not all the time but it's several times a day (esp if I have the wrong bra on or no bra).  The pain is burning and sort of like muscle cramps.  On a scale of one to ten, I'd say it's an 8.5 - meaning it HURTS.  Then, it subsides.

This seems to be the result of changes in my breast size and carriage.  So, I'm wondering, should I document this?  Should I see my PCP?  I ask because, if it continues, would this be grounds for my insurance to pay for a breast lift?

Has anyone else experienced this type of pain?

Thanks, Christy

I can't relate Christy but I would definitely see my doctor if I were you.  Pain of this intensity is not normal and could suggest a blocked gland or other issue that needs to be seen.  Keep us posted!

I had something very similar.  I never figured out what it was and neither of my surgeons could figure it out either.  It was very weird.  It did go away, but it seems it hung around a while, and mine was earlier out than where you are now.  I still had my JP drain in and I remember feeling very weak when it started, so I'm guessing the first four or five months.  Hopefully it will get better soon, but please check with your doc and do document it, just in case.

I have no idea what it could be but the facts that it hurts that bad and that it has been going on for a few weeks would be grounds for me to go in and see someone about it. I just figure it is long enough for it to not be a minor, weird, growing (shrinking) pain and it is bothering you enough to ask us about it.

Good luck finding an answer. Keep us posted. ~ Nancy

See your PCP...once every 4-6 weeks, more or less. Have them document the pain and "prescribe" treatment of some sort.

My batwings ache horrily if I do not wear snug sleeves and sometimes they bruise from normal daily stuff. This has been documented for 2+yrs and should be grounds for ins to cover a brachio.

For any skin issues, document, have PCP document, document, document and if they prescribe meds..GET THEM FILLED! All these things help greatly with getting RECONSTRUCTIVE surgery done.

I had the EXACT same thing for about two weeks now!  I went to my PCP and she said that things just seem to be readjusting and I seem to pinching a nerve in there!  The pain seems to come and go, but I've been having an extremely hard time working out.  If it bounces at all, I get a massive pain, which feels like someone is shocking my breast!!

I wasn't sure if it was related to the slight sagging I have, or if I pinched a nerve, or pulled a muscle, but I figured if it does end up being related to my surgery.... I figured going to my PCP and getting notes put on my file regarding the problem, will help build my case for my insurance if I do end up needing a lift!

I know what you mean about pain though!  It HURTS!!!  Hope this helps!
