How are you keeping track of weight loss?
I am getting excited about my surgery even though its probably going to be sometime mid February if I had to guess. So I was thinking.....how am I going to track my loss? I know I am going to do pictures at least...but not sure if I will do 1 set each month. or 1 set each 10lbs. Or if I should video blog? I love watching other peoples videos, but have a hard time talking to a camera. I may be able to do it for myself, but not sure if I would go public or not with it on youtube. The thought of my coworkers seeing it makes me cringe. I admire and am thankful for the people who do. Especially the ones who are completely raw with it. There's not too many DS people on there. I think it's fun to watch the progress. After all, we will never we this weight again. So we have to take advantage of it as happening.
So just curious, what have you decided to do to keep track of your weight? How often do you take pictures?

In retrospect I wish I would have kept a week by week weight loss journal of some sort accompanied by photos.
I would encourage you to do that. I couldn't do the video thing either, even though Tom's (LevittownLoser) were the #1 thing that encouraged me to get the DS. Some people have a knack for being in front of the camera. I don't....

I kept track of my loss monthly on the lab rat site and then every three months took pics--much sooner and I don't know if I would have seen the difference. I've used the photos for updates here--leave them for a few days and delete from the post (there have been problems in the past with pics being taken from here and used for other things--yuck!).
But, yes, keep track--it helps your mind keep up with your body!

I did a flow chart, because I also charged my measurements and some other stuff. Disabled nurse here - I live to document. But it's actually cool because I can (and do with disgusting regularity) print out a CHART of my weight loss. It's like a mesa on the left side - way up high, no loss of altitude. Little blip when I had the sleeve and then BANG - fell off the cliff when I had the DS.
You can do the same thing, basically, if you get a membership at MyDailyPlate - I think you have to have the paid membership, but maybe not. You can track your weight and measurements if you want, but the charting function isn't as flexible.
Good luck and all the best with your surgery and all. Keeping track of your results is a good idea because it's hard to fathom, once it's actually happening.

PS I was a lightweight with less than 100 lbs to loose and got a "regular" DS. What surgery are you getting exactly?
